Team Roles
- Brooklyn Taylor: Designer, writer/level builder, and tester.
- Dyon Gibb: Tech support.
- Hannah Srzich: Tech lead.
- Stella Srzich: Project manager, and art lead.
Pitch
Black Pravda is a tense, point-and-click, puzzle-driven survival game, set aboard a failing Soviet nuclear submarine trapped deep below the ocean’s surface. After a monstrous attack leaves the crew dead and the vessel critically damaged, you must repair systems and navigate back to safety—all while being hunted down by an unknown, colossal force. As pressure mounts, both literal and psychological, can you recall the Pravda? Or will it consume you?
Controls
- Point-and-click.
- Keyboard input for code cracker mini-game.
- Optional WASD keys or arrow keys for room navigation (point and click also works).
- Escape to toggle settings menu in game, as well as exiting mini-game popup when active.
Story
You begin in the drab office of a gentle shrink, attempting to retell the tale of how you survived aboard The Pravda. You must go deep into your sub-conscious to recall this painful past.
It was your first mission as a Soviet naval engineer, responsible for the upkeep of systems, 600 meters below. Just as you are being shown the ropes, a strange ping appears on the sonar. , the lights black out and the submarine is in critical condition. You realise you are the sole survivor.
Now, you must commit to repairing the Pravda to return to the surface alive. You navigate the submarine’s labyrinth of systems and complete urgent repairs to restore its functionality and escape the ocean's depths. All the while, your memory fades and your mind torments.
The truth, the Pravda, demands to be known. But as pressure mounts, what will be told?
Known Issues
- The game was designed for the most common aspect ratio of 16:9. Going fullscreen in unsupported aspect ratios may result in some art distortion and placement issues.
- During the tutorial, there is a rare bug where, after completing the oxygen room tutorial, the mini-game popup remains on the screen. Moving to the next room with keys resolves this.
- Keyboard navigation will sometimes stop working in the WebGL build. Using mouse to navigate between rooms will fix this.
